Luxury Wedding Flowers in New York City

Alaric Flower Design is a floral studio on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, designing wedding flowers for New York City ceremonies and receptions since 2006. We work at every scale, from an intimate elopement to a full ballroom, and we design every wedding around your venue, your palette and the season you are marrying in.

What we design for a wedding

Everything for the day comes out of one studio and one brief, so the bouquets, the ceremony and the tables read as a single piece of work rather than three separate orders.

  • Bridal and bridesmaid bouquets, flower crowns, corsages and boutonnieres
  • Ceremony flowers: arches, chuppahs, altar pieces and aisle arrangements
  • Reception centerpieces and floral tablescapes
  • Installations for welcome areas, staircases and entryways
  • Flowers for rehearsal dinners and next-day brunches

We work with the best seasonally available stems and source from premium growers, for freshness and depth of color on the day itself.

Bridal bouquets

The bouquet is the one arrangement that stays in hand all day and turns up in almost every photograph. We make bridal and bridesmaid bouquets to the dress and to the palette, from a loose garden-rose shape to a tight collar of a single flower.

Boutonnieres, corsages and flower crowns are cut from the same flowers, so the whole party matches without looking matched.

Ceremony flowers

The ceremony is the part of the day every guest is pointed at, so we build the flowers to frame it: an arch over the doors, pedestals either side of the aisle, or something quieter at the altar. The scale is set by the room and by where people will be standing when they look up.

Palette is the couple's call. The white pedestals above and the coral, magenta and heliconia arch below came out of the same studio, one indoors against drapes, the other on a lake terrace with the aisle lined in petals.

Reception flowers that work at room scale

A reception is read from the door before anyone sits down. The vases here are footed and tall so the flowers sit above the sightline and guests can still talk across the table, and we carry one palette from the entrance through to the last table, so the room looks composed rather than assembled.

Couples planning a bolder visual statement sometimes add balloon work to the floral brief. Our balloon and flower decor team builds entrance framing and photo backdrops to sit alongside the ceremony and reception flowers, designed in the same palette by the same studio.

Installations and welcome areas

Some of the work is structural rather than tabletop. An escort card table under a hanging canopy of calla lilies and orchids, a blossom tree uplit at the edge of the room: pieces like these are built on site, and they set the tone before a guest has found their table.

Why couples choose Alaric

Couples choose Alaric Flower Design for one-to-one attention from the first consultation through to day-of setup. We understand the pace and the complexity of putting on an event in New York, and we are used to working alongside event planners, coordinators and hotel teams.

"The flowers were absolutely beautiful and exactly what I wanted. Thank you so much for all your help—you create truly beautiful, perfect flowers!"

– Lisa Griffeth, bride

"Your work at Morissa's wedding was perfect. You listened closely and brought her vision to life. The rooms felt exactly as we hoped—visually stunning."

– Karen Falk, mother of the bride

Dinners, rehearsal dinners and smaller rooms

A good deal of our wedding work happens in the smaller rooms around the day: the rehearsal dinner, the private dining room, the long table lit by candles. Low bud vases and tapers suit a room like that better than height, and the flowers can be looser and more seasonal than a ballroom usually allows.

These rooms are lit low, so the flowers have to hold up by candlelight. Pale petals pick up the flame, the shapes stay loose enough to read at close range, and nothing sits high enough to interrupt the table.
