Father's Day Flowers in NYC
Father's Day in NYC is Sunday, June 21, 2026. Most Dads don't get flowers — which is exactly why a thoughtful, well-designed arrangement lands so well. At Alaric Flower Design, we hand-design Father's Day arrangements from our Upper West Side studio at 54 W 70th Street and deliver same-day across Manhattan. Below: which arrangements work for Dad, when to order, and a few concrete suggestions.
Are flowers a good Father's Day gift?
Yes — when they're the right kind of flowers. Father's Day remains a smaller floral moment than Mother's Day nationally, but that's the opportunity. A soft pastel bouquet aimed at a feminine recipient will read as off-brand for most Dads; a bold, architectural arrangement — orchids, structural greenery, sculptural vessels — reads as a considered, design-led gift. The men who appreciate flowers in their home office, on the kitchen island, or in a hallway console are the same men who notice good design generally. Pair the arrangement with a bottle of something he likes (champagne, single malt) or a box of chocolates and you've built a complete gift that sidesteps the cliché. The cost of being thoughtful is a few minutes choosing the right palette — bold, restrained, never twee.
What flowers work best for Father's Day?
Three categories outperform the rest for male recipients. Orchids are the strongest single choice: they're long-lasting (often 6–8 weeks in bloom), architecturally striking, and read as unmistakably modern rather than romantic. Architectural arrangements with strong lines — tall greenery, structural blooms like protea or anthurium, and clean vessels — bring sculpture to a desk or console without skewing feminine. Designer's Choice in a restrained palette (whites, greens, deep burgundies) lets us design with the recipient in mind: we ask a few questions about his home and we build accordingly. Avoid soft pinks, pastels, and overly mixed wildflower-style bouquets unless you know he specifically likes them. The signal you're sending is: I picked something thoughtful, not something default.
Three suggestions from our current collection:

Double White Orchid — $175
A double white orchid plant — six to eight weeks of clean, architectural blooms. The strongest single Father's Day gift we offer: long-lasting, sculptural, never sentimental.

Aurora — $100
Bold blues and architectural lines — built for a desk, console, or kitchen island. Reads as designed, not given. Same-day Manhattan delivery from our Upper West Side studio.

Designer's Choice — $100
If you'd rather leave the design to us, our Designer's Choice lets you specify a palette (we recommend whites + greens or deeper burgundies for Dad) and we build to your budget. Available from $100, hand-designed in our studio.
Order now →When should I order Father's Day flowers in NYC?
Order by 2pm ET on Sunday, June 21 for same-day Manhattan delivery on Father's Day itself. If you want morning delivery (before brunch, before the Dad in question heads out for the day), place your order by 2pm ET on Saturday, June 20 and we'll lock in a Sunday morning slot. For Brooklyn delivery in our covered neighborhoods (Brooklyn Heights, DUMBO, Downtown Brooklyn, Fort Greene, Williamsburg, Park Slope, Cobble Hill, Boerum Hill, Carroll Gardens), schedule 1–2 days in advance. Outside the NYC metro we don't ship — every Alaric arrangement is hand-designed and hand-delivered locally. For orchid plants, which sometimes sell out closer to the holiday, ordering by Thursday June 18 gives us the best chance of having the exact stem you want in stock. Call (212) 308-3794 with questions.
How much should a Father's Day arrangement cost?
Father's Day arrangements at Alaric start at $100 and most clients spend between $150 and $300. A double white orchid plant ($175) is our most-recommended single gift and bridges the gap between "thoughtful" and "considered" without veering into over-the-top. Architectural arrangements like Aurora ($100) work as a more graphic statement piece for a desk or console. Larger sculptural designs and custom Designer's Choice arrangements scale up to $500+ if you want to make a real moment of it — pairing the arrangement with champagne, chocolates, or a single malt is easy from there. Delivery is a flat $20 across Manhattan; Brooklyn (covered neighborhoods only) is $25–35 depending on neighborhood. Outside Manhattan and our covered Brooklyn zones, we deliver on request — call us to confirm.
Frequently asked questions
Do men actually like getting flowers?
The men who notice good design generally — clean architecture, considered objects, well-made things — appreciate a well-designed arrangement. The trick is matching the design to the recipient: bold lines, restrained palettes, and structural blooms (orchids, protea, anthurium) rather than soft pastel bouquets. If you're uncertain, an orchid plant is the safest single choice.
Can I send a Father's Day arrangement to an office?
Yes. Manhattan office delivery is straightforward as long as someone will be there to receive it; we recommend a Friday delivery (June 19) for offices that close on the weekend. Include the recipient's full name, floor, and suite number, and a contact phone in case the lobby has questions.
What's the same-day cutoff on Father's Day?
2pm ET for same-day Manhattan delivery on Sunday, June 21. Brooklyn orders in our covered neighborhoods need 1–2 days advance notice. For Sunday morning delivery, place your order by 2pm ET on Saturday June 20.
Can I add a card or pair the flowers with another gift?
Yes — every arrangement includes a hand-written card with your message. If you want to pair the flowers with champagne, chocolates, or another gift, call us at (212) 308-3794 and we can arrange coordinated delivery from a partner vendor.
Do you deliver outside Manhattan and Brooklyn?
We deliver same-day across Manhattan ($20 flat) and to covered Brooklyn neighborhoods with 1–2 days notice ($25–35 depending on neighborhood). For Queens, the Bronx, Staten Island, or destinations outside the five boroughs, call us — we handle these on a per-request basis depending on the destination.
