• Light: Bright indirect light is ideal. East or west-facing windows are perfect. Direct afternoon sun will scorch the leaves.
• Watering: Once a week is usually right. Let the top inch of growing medium dry out between waterings. Overwatering kills more orchids than underwatering.
• Temperature: 65–80°F — exactly what most Manhattan apartments sit at year-round. Keep away from air conditioning vents and drafts.
• After blooming: When the blooms drop, cut the spike down to the base. Continue watering and feeding lightly. Most Phalaenopsis will rebloom within 6–12 months.
